Sunday Schools and Sunday Clubs
Two of our Churches has its own Sunday School or Sunday Club. This is a special service for children and young people that takes place during the main Sunday service. The purpose is to provide child friendly worship and access to the Bible readings of the day for everyone. It is led by a group of volunteer helpers and teachers who make sure everything is run according to our Christian principles and guidelines of the Church in Wales. Helpers and leaders also agree to follow the Care and Standards guidance (see document below).
If you have any questions about what happens during our Sunday Schools/Clubs please contact the clergy. Likewise, if you would like to help or volunteer please contact us or fill in the application form below and then return it to a member of the clergy team.
St Catherine's Sunday Club -
Takes place in St Catherine's Hall. Everyone goes to the Church for 10:30 and the children are welcomed and then sent out carrying their book of the gospels and their own collection plate. They normally return just before communion and come to the altar for Holy Communion or a blessing. After the post communion anthem is sung the children and their leaders are invited to share with the rest of the congregation their work and the message they've explored that morning.
St John's Sunday School -
This is an informal time of worship and activity that takes place in St John's Choir Vestry (to the left of the high altar). Children and parents make their own way there before the service begins normally via the Lady Chapel. Children return to their families during Holy Communion.
