The announcement was made yesterday, 8th January 2017, at the end of all our services and he was warmly congratulated in the midst of the shock and disappointment that accompanied the news. Following the announcement yesterday, Fr Phelim said, "We are very excited at the challenges ahead and how God plans to use us to make real His Kingdom in another vineyard. We are not going just yet but will be here for Easter with the licensing most likely taking place soon after that. It is most appropriate for me to say a sincere and warm thank you for the joy of ministering here and serving you, these last few years, in one of the best parishes the Church in Wales has to offer. Thank you all very much for the warmth of your welcome and hospitality and for putting up with all of the ideas and initiatives I've bothered you with!"
We wish him and his family well during these next months of transition and will keep them in our prayers.
